FSU places 3rd at the International iMatSci - Innovation in Materials Science Competition at the Materials Research Society 2014 Fall Meeting in Boston, MA. FSU won for its patented "ViVex-Cel Advanced Wound Recovery Device". Carla Raineri Padilla, inventor of the device, of the Research Office and Chibu Umerah a junior majoring in Chemistry and minoring Materials Science, represented FSU at the competition.
The mission of SENCR-MIC is to provide state-of-the-art microanalytical and imaging capabilities in material structural characterizations for faculty, staff, and students at Fayetteville State University; and external academic, governmental, industrial, private, and other agencies in the southeastern North Carolina region and beyond to support cutting-edge research and transformative education.
