Department Mission and Goals
- Increase enrollment in mathematics and computer science courses, especially of historically underrepresented students;
- Prepare students to enter careers in mathematics, computer science, technology, engineering, and education;
- Prepare students to continue their education beyond the undergraduate level;
- Work with colleagues from other disciplines and institutions who share the responsibility for ensuring a new generation of mathematically and technically literate students;
- Serve as a resource in mathematics, computer science and statistics for the local community, and contribute to quality of life in the region, the state, the nation and the world;
- Excel in research and scholarship.
