--- The Ninth annual Miss Fayetteville State University Scholarship Pageant will
be held on Saturday, April 15, 2000 at 8:00 pm in the Felton J. Capel Arena on
the Campus of FSU. This years
pageant, AOn
Broadway,@
promises to be entertaining and exiting. Miss Fayetteville State University Gemette Cox, a Senior from Raeford,
North Carolina, will relinquish her crown to one of the seven articulate,
beautiful and poised young ladies competing to be the next Miss Fayetteville
State University of the new millennium. The
2000 contestants vying for the coveted crown are: Tiffany
Best, Janine Coaxum,
Samone Dickey, Dionne Gilmore, Charnelle
Green, Evette Clark, and Shaunda
Robinson. To be eligible to compete in the pageant, each contestant must possess a
high scholastic average and be in good standing with the University.
The contestants will compete in five categories: interview, sportswear,
talent, evening gown, and the student vote. Camie Gates and Rodgery Woods, will serve as the mistress and master of
ceremonies for the pageant. Camie,
a senior majoring in Speech and Theater from San Antonio, TX , and Woods, a
radio personality from Charlotte, NC with WFSB 98.5 FM and WIDU 1600 AM, are
both FSU senior students. This
trend of student personalities is steadily becoming a welcomed tradition. As is previous years, the opening number which will feature the reigning queen, the contestants, and pageant dancers, is sure to be a crowd
pleaser. A host of exciting
entertainment will also be showcased throughout the evening. The public is invited to attend. Admission
