Dr. Angela Stewart

Lecturer

Dr. Stewart received her BSN from North Carolina A&T State University. After graduation she was commissioned in the Navy Nurse Corps where she served for three years. She then spent 8 years serving in the US Army Nurse Corps. She received her MSN from Spalding University and a DNP from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Dr. Stewart is a board-certified family nurse practitioner. She owned and operated a weight loss and wellness clinic before transitioning to nursing education.

Research Interests

Dr. Stewart’s research interests include incivility in the nursing profession, disparities in health care, and culturally competent nursing care.
