Advisement for New and Readmitted Students

If you are a:

You will be advised by:
New Freshman (This is your first time attending a university.) University College, Helen T. Chick Building, 672-1060
New Transfer Student (You have attended another college or university.) Please see your category in the box on the right. 
  • Review your initial transfer evaluation, which can be accessed through Banner.  Click here for instructions.
  • Prior to advisement, you are required to complete profile examinations if you do not meet the following criteria:  have at least 30 credit hours, including six hours of university-level mathematics and six hours of university-level English.  Click here for more information about profile exams. 
  • Transferring fewer than 30 hours, go to the Transfer and Advisement Center, mobile unit next to Telecommunications Bldg., 672-2286
  • Transferring 30 or more hours, go to the department of your major.  Click here for departmental offices and locations.
  • Transferring 30 or more hours, but undecided about major, go to the Transfer and Advisement Center, mobile unit next to Telecommunications Bldg., 672-2286
New Special-Visiting Student  - Undergraduate (You are not seeking a degree.)
  • If you have been classified as a Special-Visiting Student pending receipt of application materials, you should follow the procedures outlined above for first-time freshmen or new transfer students.
  • If you are taking courses exclusively for personal enhancement or transfer to another institution, the Admissions Office will provide your registration code.  If you need assistance with advisement, you should go to the department in which you intend to take classes.  Click here for departmental offices and locations.

  • If you have been admitted into a degree program, please go to the department of your intended major.  Click here for locations.
  • If you are seeking Teacher Licensure, go to the department of the area of licensure.   Click here for locations.
  • If you are enrolling in courses for professional development only, you will receive your registration access code from the Admissions Office.  If you need assistance with advisement and registration, please go to the department in which you wish to take classes.   Click here for locations.
Readmit Student - You were previously enrolled at Fayetteville State University, but have not been enrolled for one or more semesters.  (Please note that you must apply for readmission.)  Please select the category that applies to you. 
  • If you have earned fewer than 30 hours, go to the Transfer and Advisement Center, mobile unit next to Telecommunications Bldg., 672-2286
  • If you have already declared a major and are in good academic standing, go to your previous advisor or department chair.  Click here for list of departments and locations.
  • If you have earned 30 or more credits, but undecided about your major, or on academic probation or warning, go to the Transfer and Advisement Center, mobile unit next to Telecommunications Bldg., 672-2286
Students on probation or suspension
