Admissions Requirements
Students who graduated from high school in 1990 or after must meet the following requirements:
- English, four units;
- Mathematics, three units, including Algebra I, Algebra II, and geometry, or a higher level mathematics course for which Algebra II is a prerequisite;
- Social Sciences, two units, including one unit in U.S. history, though an applicant who does not have a unit in U.S. history may be admitted on the condition that at least three semester hours in that subject is passed by the end of the sophomore years;
- Electives, six units of electives from the areas of language, literature, mathematics, science, social studies, or business.
Effective Fall 2004:
- two units of language other than English;
Effective Fall 2006:
- one additional unit of mathematics beyond Algebra II, raising the required units of mathematics to four.
Exceptions to these requirements may be made for transfer students who:
- have earned an associate of arts, associate of science, or the associate of fine arts;
- have attended a community or technical college and are attending FSU under an articulation agreement; or
- have earned six credit hours in each of the following areas: English, mathematics, natural sciences, and social sciences.
