Socorro Hinek
Biography

Socorro Hernandez-Hinek, M.F.A., Assistant Professor. Received her degree from East Carolina University, Greenville. Ms. Hinek’s experience includes museum education, studio technique and foundation courses and grantwriting. She has received acknowledgements and awards in grantwriting for the visual arts and in the field of art education. Before coming to Fayetteville State University, she had a varied experience working in the museum environment as presenter, educator and education administration. She has traveled to throughout the United States, Europe and Latin America to view museum collections. Ms. Hinek has exhibited widely and has works in private collections. She lectures, presents workshops, and attends professional conferences frequently. Ms. Hinek teaches painting, drawing, sculpture and art history.

The 2004 exhibitions include works on display at East Carolina University -Wellington Gray Gallery, Cape Fear Studios - Fayetteville, Fayetteville State University - Rosenthal Gallery, and North Carolina State University- College of Art and Design.

Temple" A scale model and presentation for circulation within the Cumberland County schools.

 

April 2005. Co-Chair,"The Cultural Experience: Fusion, Fragmentation, and Transition" Charles Chesnutt Festival. A week-long event held on Fayetteville State Campus, celebrating the Arts and legacy of African American novelist Charles Chesnutt.
