VIRTUAL CLASS ROOM QUICK SHEET


Here's a peek at the Virtual Classroom (See Figure 1):

The Virtual classroom has 3 main areas:

  1. Whiteboard - This works just like a chalkboard in the classroom. You can write and draw homework problems on the Whiteboard and everyone in the classroom can see all your work!

  2. Tab Panel - The Tab Panel has 3 tabs:

  • Use the Chat Panel Tab to 'chat' with the instructor and the other students in the class. You can chat about a lesson you recently had in school or chat about a problem on the Whiteboard.

  • You can ask questions by using the Questions Tab. This is just like raising your hand in class!

  • See the User Info Tab to find out who's in the classroom.

  1. Status Line - The status line will tell you to what object your cursor is pointing.

Getting Started with Virtual Classroom

Speak with the instructor and students by typing within the chat area (as shown below), then you may write or draw your problem on the whiteboard. The whiteboard is the blank white space at the top of the chat screen. The chat area appears below the whiteboard. Just note that everyone in the classroom can see everything you type and draw on the screen. Here's a few instructions to get you started on using virtual classroom:

Use the Whiteboard menu to change the look of your drawings on the whiteboard. Use the Line Width option to change the width of lines drawn with the marker tool. Use the Font option to change text style and size.

Asking Questions
Type your question, then press Enter. Your question appears in the window (as shown in the picture above).

Correcting Mistakes
If you make a mistake on the whiteboard, you can correct it easily. First, click the Button button on the left side of the screen, click the item on the whiteboard that you want to erase, then press the delete key on your keyboard.
 

Marker Tool
Use the marker toolMarker tool to draw shapes or write equations on the whiteboard.

To draw, click the Marker tool button, then move your mouse to the place on the whiteboard that you would like to begin drawing. Click and hold the mouse button down while you draw a shape or write a letter. When you are finished drawing, release the mouse.

Text Tool
Use the text tool Text tool to write words or letters on the whiteboard

To type, click the Text tool button, then move your mouse to the place on the whiteboard that you would like to begin writing. Click once, then start typing!!
