Fayetteville State University is one of sixteen constituent institutions of the University of North Carolina and is accountable to the UNC Board of Governors through the Office of the President and a
13-member Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees exercises powers and authorities as prescribed and delegated by the UNC Board of Goverors to ensure the fiscal and academic soundness of the university, which offers baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral-level programs to more than 5,000 students.
