BroncoConnect for Faculty - Class Attendance

BroncoConnect provides an easy way to take class attendance.  Taking attendance in BroncoConnect makes that information available to students and advisors.  It can also be used to raise flags if students miss multiple classes.  Attendance flags are immediately available to students and advisors.

To take attendance in BroncoConnect, click on the Students tab.  Select the term and class from the Term and Connection drop-down boxes. Then click on the Attendance tab.

Before you can take attendance, you must set up a class schedule.  Click on the Class Schedule button.  Complete the requested information and submit.

Next, click the Record Attendance button.  Select a meeting date/time from the Meeting Times drop-down box.  This creates attendance records for the selected date.  The default is Present.  Other options are Absent, Excused, Tardy.  Click to select the appropriate value for each student, then click Submit.

Attendance is visible to the student in BroncoConnect from the Courses area.  Advisors can also view class attendance. FSU has set up automatic flags that are raised when a student has three and six unexcused absences in the same course.  The flags will go to the student and to the student's advisor as well as other student success professionals connected with the student (e.g., coaches for student athletes).
