Fourth of July Holiday Closing

The Chancellor and his Cabinet approved the University to use Friday, July 3, 2009 for 8 of the 10 hours of the Governor's furlough leave. The remaining 2 of the 10 hours will be used to close at 3:00 pm the afternoon of Thursday, July 2, 2009. Further, the paid holiday originally planned for Friday, July 3, 2009 will now be used to close on Monday, December 28, 2009, a date previously not scheduled as a holiday this year.

Governor Perdue orders furloughs for state workers

The Office of State Budget and Management’s (OSBM) analysis of General Fund revenue collections indicate that the budget shortfall for FY 2008-09 may exceed $3 billion.
