GEAR UP Residential Camp

Rising 9th graders who currently attend Luther “Nick” Jeralds Middle, Anne Chesnutt Middle, Westover Middle
|
The “Transition to High School” Residential Summer Camp is a camp that provides students with an opportunity to reside in the residence halls on the campus of Fayetteville State University. The camp will provide pre-college classes that simulate the college-going experience that includes living together as a community, attending academic classes [Math (Algebra/Geometry), English, Science (Biology/Chemistry/ Physics), Computer Applications], participating in social activities, and being exposed to cultural enrichment activities. This camp is designed to support students with a rigorous program of study. Students will have the opportunity to develop personal responsibility for their time and behavior. |

Educational Talent Search STEM Camp

Rising 7th and 8th Grade Talent Search Participants |
The STEM Camp is a 2-week Summer Program hosted at Fayetteville State University. The camp will expose students to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics instruction. Participants will engage in STEM activities designed to stimulate learning and retention of material. Students will have the opportunity to enhance their knowledge of STEM fields to become more global competitive. |

Educational Talent Search Math Boot Camp

Rising 9th and 10th Grade Talent Search Participants |
The Math Boot Camp is a 1-week program hosted at Fayetteville State University. This activity is designed to introduce students’ to Algebra and Geometry. ETS participants will take part in hands-on activities to learn different strategies, gain a better understanding, and increase their comfort level of Mathematics. |

Educational Talent Search College Readiness Retreat |
July 15th –19th |
Rising 11th and 12th Grade Talent Search Participants |
The College Readiness Retreat is a 1-week program hosted at Fayetteville State University. The Retreat provides a unique opportunity for upperclassmen to experience college life in a college setting. Students will participate in creative college preparation workshops, essay writing, interaction with professional staff and a college campus tour. Students will have the opportunity to enhance their college awareness in an interactive environment. |

Upward Bound Residential Program

Rising 10th -12th grade students currently enrolled in the Upward Bound Program |
The Upward Bound Summer Residential Program provides a unique opportunity for Upward Bound participants to experience college life in an organized and supervised environment. Students will participate in challenging academic coursework to include, English, Math, Science and Spanish and extracurricular activities, Theater Arts, Physical Education and Computer Science. Students have the opportunity to enhance their time management skills, study skills, and social development skills by participating in personal development and cultural activities designed to enhance and enrich their self-awareness. |

Upward Bound Math & Science |

Rising 9th -12th grade students currently enrolled in the Upward Bound Math & Program |
The Upward Bound Math & Science Summer Program is designed to strengthen the math and science skills experience college life in an organized and supervised environment. Students will participate in challenging academic coursework to include, English, Math, Science, Research and extracurricular activities. Students’ have the unique opportunity to recognize and develop their potential to excel in math and science and pursue postsecondary degrees in math and science. |

Transition to College Conference |

This will guide incoming college freshmen strategies to be successful in college. Transition sessions will focus college success skills and provide assistance on overcoming barriers and challenges that freshmen face once they arrive to college. |
