Career Services Center

The Office of Career Services is here to support you throughout your graduate career, whether you are considering a career inside or outside the university, or both.  Careers inside the university include positions as faculty, administrators, or researchers.  Outside of the university, you may be looking to work as a researcher in industry or in government, as a consultant, writer/editor, or any number of options. 

Having developed the ability to synthesize great amounts of information and develop your thoughts and arguments into a written document, your dissertation, is valued in many different professions.  Your stand-up presentation skills as a teaching assistant and presenter at conferences and within your departments are strongly desired in all professions.  Learning the crucial components of career development and self-management now, while you are in graduate school, will help ensure a smooth transition later, when you are ready to launch into a meaningful career.  Understanding and applying the principles of career management will help you progress in your career and provide you with greater satisfaction and effectiveness as you grow professionally.
