Description: This workshop will introduce several types of rubrics for both the  assessing and teaching of writing. Faculty will be encouraged to tailor rubrics to  their specific writing assignments and student outcomes, while standardizing use  of writing terminology to aid students as they transition between writing  assignments for different courses.

"Assessing Critical Thinking in the Classroom”- conducted by Michelle Darnell

Description: This workshop is designed to assist faculty in eliciting and assessing critical thinking in their students. A variety of rubrics will be provided for discussion, and material from diverse academic subjects will be used to exemplify how faculty might include critical thinking activities into their classrooms that explicitly build off of material every student learns in PHI 110.

The Reading Across the Curriculum workshop will introduce faculty to various proven, interdisciplinary reading strategies that aid in increasing students' reading, reading comprehension and literacy skills.

Description:
This workshop will familiarize faculty with the FSU Student Learning Outcomes and with the new process of certifying Core courses.  Faculty will learn how to connect their courses to the SLOs and how to show those connections to their students, chairs, deans, and SACS accreditors through their syllabi and assessment methods.  Faculty who regularly teach courses in the undergraduate core are encouraged to attend.

Description:
This workshop is designed to introduce faculty to Taskstream assessment software that the university is using to store all assessment activity data. Faculty will learn how to register for access, navigate the various pages and menus, and learn how to input data collected from assessment projects implemented this semester.
