Through strategic partnerships with industry associates, institutions of higher education, the Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security, and other federal, state, and local entities, the CDHS will be engaged in transformational education, research and the commercialization of emerging scientific technologies in areas critical to the national security of the U.S.
These focus areas or essential paths of investigation will inform strategic initiatives, calculated research and visionary developments that avow significant impact in support of the mitigation and recovery of natural and man-made catastrophic disasters, within the U.S., and international countries of strategic interest to the U.S.
