Stephen Pennink, a native of Fayetteville and a senior majoring in finance, served as Fayetteville State University’s (FSU) "Chancellor for a Day" on February 10, 2010. Stephen has an outstanding academic record, is a member of the Honors Program, and an active participant in many organizations. He is a member of the Entrepreneurial Leadership Institute, the Opportunity Funding Corporation-Venture Challenge (OFC-VC), the Finance Club, and Students in Free Enterprise. He serves as Vice President of the Society for the Advancement of Management (S.A.M.S.).
As Chancellor for a Day, he wanted to know "what it takes on a normal day to manage all the operations on campus while still boosting the morale of students and the campus environment."

"Thanks for the opportunity to serve and thanks for a great day of learning so many new things about the many campus functions. I learned that a university is like a corporation and that a Chancellor must truly love his job and be passionate about sculpting students to become successful leaders within the community. The Chancellor, the faculty, and staff have motivated me to believe in myself, and I know that with hard work and faith, I can be a success. I am not afraid to take on challenges."
Currently, Stephen is engaged in an internship with the Small Business Administration and looks forward to a career in finance.
