Dear Local Clergy:
Dr. James A. Anderson will be installed as Chancellor of Fayetteville State University on April 3, 2009. Dr. Anderson assumed his new role at our 141-year-old institution on July 1, 2008. We invite you to attend a special ecumenical service on April 1, 2009, at 6:00 p.m. The service will kick off the series of scheduled activities leading up to the installation and will be held in Seabrook Auditorium.
Prior to coming to FSU, Dr. Anderson served as Vice President for Student Success and Vice Provost for Institutional Assessment and Diversity at the University of Albany, Vice President and Associate Provost for Institutional Assessment and Diversity at Texas A&M, and Vice Provost for Undergraduate Affairs at North Carolina State University. Throughout his illustrious career, he has become nationally known for his expertise in student affairs, student development, general education curricula, first-year college programs, honors programs, faculty development programs that focus on innovative teaching and learning outcomes, minority engineering programs, and diversity. Dr. Anderson is also an accomplished scholar and author, having recently published a book entitled, Driving Change through Diversity and Globalization: Transformative Leadership in the Academy. As Chancellor of Fayetteville State University, Dr. Anderson brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise as a leader, an administrator, and a scholar.
If you plan to participate in the ecumenical service please RSVP via the link provided. Participants should arrive no later than 5:15 p.m. so that they may be a part of the processional.
