Dear Delegate,

By now, you should have received the Save the Date card notifying you of the Installation of Dr. James A. Anderson as Chancellor of Fayetteville State University to be held on April 3, 2009. Dr. Anderson, who assumed his new role at our 141-year-old institution on July 1, 2008, is the 11th chief executive officer of Fayetteville State University.

Prior to coming to FSU, Dr. Anderson served as Vice President for Student Success and
Vice Provost for Institutional Assessment and Diversity at the University of Albany, Vice President and Associate Provost for Institutional Assessment and Diversity at Texas A&M, and Vice Provost for Undergraduate Affairs at North Carolina State University. Throughout his illustrious career, he has become nationally known for his expertise in student affairs, student development, general education curricula, first-year college programs, honors programs, faculty development programs that focus on innovative teaching and learning outcomes, minority engineering programs, and diversity. Dr. Anderson is also an accomplished scholar and author, having recently published a book entitled, Driving Change through Diversity and Globalization: Transformative Leadership in the Academy. As Chancellor of Fayetteville State University, Dr. Anderson brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise as a leader, an administrator, and a scholar.

We invite you or a designee to participate as a delegate in this historical installation of Fayetteville State University’s 11th CEO. Even though you will be receiving a formal invitation within the next few weeks, so that you can plan and prepare for this event, we have made the invitation and registration form available online. Please submit the form by March 18, 2009, and inform us of your participation, indicating the specific activities in which you will participate.
