CHEER students will stay in Renaissance Hall for the duration of the program. Renaissance Hall opened Fall of 2012 and is our newest residence hall on campus. Renaissance Hall is a comfortable, centrally-located hall near the top of campus. Students are a few steps away from the Capel Arena, School of Business and Economics Building and the Butler Building, which is home to our English and Education Departments.
Renaissance Hall houses up to three hundred and thirty six residents in double occupancy rooms. Amenities include spacious rooms with carpet, a full size bed per resident, and a large 5x4 window per room for a marvelous view of our campus. Each room has a separate bathroom to share with one roommate. Residence Life is committed to assisting our residential students in achieving not only academic success, but also in living a healthy lifestyle. In order to meet this goal we have two fully equipped Fitness Centers located on both sides of campus for residential students. In addition, each living community has at least one to two pieces of exercise equipment as well, to provide convenience to our students living on campus who would like to work out.
Like all residence halls on campus, Renaissance has furnished, air-conditioned rooms with internet access, local phone service, and a cable plug-in. If you wish to bring a TV or computer, please bring cords to hook up cable and ethernet access. Wireless is available in the lobby. Renaissance also has on-site laundry facilities and a spacious courtyard where many evening and weekend activities will take place. Washing machines and dryers operate by swiping your ID card, which subtracts funds from your student account.
The room you live in during CHEER will not be your room for the fall semester. You will need to remove your belongings from your room when CHEER ends. With that in mind, you may wish to limit what you bring. Keeping that in mind, you are welcome to bring almost anything to make your room comfortable, including rugs, refrigerators, DVD players, dishes, computers, lamps, and microwaves.
CHEER students must follow all Residence Life rules and regulations. Violation of Residence Life regulations may result in dismissal from the program.
