Department of Communication, Languages and Cultures

FSU HomeCLCDegree programs

Degree Programs

We are proud to offer a unique blending of sister disciplines in an effort to provide the FSU community the best possible program in Communication. The BA program in Communication consists of a ten course core and three concentrations. Students can choose one of three Concentrations: the Mass Communication Concentration, with its emphasis on practical industry-related courses and experiences, the Professional Communication Concentration, with its emphasis on professional and personal communication skills, or the Journalism Concentration.

The Department of Communication, Languages and Cultures also strives to contribute to the liberal arts education of all students. Through the written and oral components of its languages courses, the Department seeks to improve the global readiness of students in southeastern North Carolina and beyond, preparing them to communicate effectively in other languages and across cultures in the region and around the globe.  CLC offers a BA in Spanish as well as a BA in Spanish with Teaching Licensure (k-12).  Furthermore, we offer a minor in Chinese and courses in French and Yoruba.
