Mrs. Christy L. Thomas-James is the Professional Development Schools Coordinator (University-School Teacher Education Partnership (U-STEP), Director) for the College of Education. Mrs. Thomas-James attended UNC-Greensboro where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in English. She earned her Master's of Education from Fayetteville State University. She is licensed to teach all subjects grades K-6; however, she holds a Reading Specialist license for Grades K-12. Additionally, she is a National Board Certified Teacher (Middle Childhood Generalist). She has worked for the North Carolina Public School systems for 14 years as a classroom teacher. Mrs. Thomas has been actively involved in workshop presentations for PRAXIS I. She volunteers as a tutor and mentor for students in Cumberland County Schools.
