Some of Our Current Technologies:

The new Bachelor of Arts in Communication will be located in several buildings on the campus including the Telecommunications Center that presently houses the following facilities:

(1) closed circuit television system, which is equipped with three Hitachi  CI  television cameras, three videotape editing systems (Amiga  2000, Sony Betacam SP, JVC Editing Units, and four TV monitors).

(2) The  television control room is equipped with a stereo mixer BK2432, Duel Scene Lighting Controller Model 1224, Panasonic Character Generator, Videocassette Recorders, and Waveform Monitor;

(3) Public Radio WFSS, which is equipped with three production studios and used for producing, editing, and on-air experience.

Equipment includes:

Audiotronics Console Series 210, Marantz Professional Compact Disc Players, Denon Fine Auto CD Loading Systems, three Compaq Desk Professional Computer. Studio II is equipped with two Tascam 122 MK Cassette Players, two Panasonic Professional Digital Audiotape Recorders SV-4100, two Marantz Professional Compact Disc Player PMD 321, one Auditronics Console Series 851, and two Compaq Computers for programming. Studio III is equipped with one Auditronics console, two Tascam 122 MK 122 Cassette Recorders, one MX5050 Marantz Reel to Reel Tape recorders.

(4) The WFSS Music Library houses over ten thousand compact discs and vinyl.

(5) Campus Radio Station WFSB which is equipped with a BE 250 Series Console and three Marantz Compact Disc Record / Playback units.

(6) The Telecommunications Center also houses the Long Distance Learning Center and Southeastern North Carolina Radio Reading Services.

(7) Room 211 and the television studio are used for classrooms. Additional classes will be held in the Rosenthal Building, which also serves as the Fine Arts Building. It houses six classrooms and was renovated in 1999.
