Tutor Application

Science & Mathematics Tutors

The Center for Promoting STEM Education and Research (CPSER) staff is currently seeking qualified individuals to serve as tutors for 100 & 200 level courses in the areas of biology, chemistry, computer science, mathematics and physics. Tutors will be required to provide individual and group tutoring when requested. Tutorial services will be available throughout the academic year as well as during summer sessions I & II. In addition, tutors will be expected to provide tutorial services to high school students participating in the CPSER 5-Week High School Rising Senior Summer Research Internship.

Qualifications

• FSU sophomores, juniors and seniors or graduate students.
• Received an A or B in the course they are tutoring.
• A cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0.
• Knowledgeable in SAT/ACT preparation.
• Must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and written.
• Must have an interest in working with undergraduate and high school students.
• Previous tutorial experience preferred.

Benefits

Tutors will receive a monthly salary ($10-$13 per hour up to 20 hours per week).
