Along with teaching in higher education, other  teaching experiences include early learning environments for children (1-5 years of age), 1973-2000.

Areas of interest include:
How young children learn
Cross-cultural studies of young children and families
Social and emotional competence development in the young child
Cultural competence in teaching
Teachers and diverse groups of children
Teacher training for constructive teaching of young children
