1A student entering the B.A. degree program in English is required to have a grade point average of 2.0 before declaring the major. A grade of "C" or better is required in all major English courses.

2UNIV 101-102 required of first-time freshmen; UNIV 110 required of transfer students with fewer than 30 transfer credits. PHIL 110 is required of transfer students with fewer than 60 transfer credits.

3University College Natural Science Requirement: Select from ASTR 111, ASTR 112, CHEM 140, CHEM 160, BIOL 150, PHYS 111, PHYS 112, PHYS 113, PHYS 121, PHYS 122, PHYS 123, ZOOL 110; NSCI 110 and NSCI 120 (must be taken as a sequence).

4All students must complete MATH 123 and three additional hours selected from MATH 121, 124, 131, 140, 142, 150, or an appropriate course in computer usage.

5PEDU requirement: Select one from PEDU 100 level courses; may be met by completing HEED 112.

6University College Humanities/Fine Arts Elective: Select one course from ART 210, ART 211, ENGL 211, ENGL 212, ENGL 220, ENGL 223, ENGL 240, HUMN 211, HUMN 212, MUSI 210, PHIL 210, PHIL 220, THEA 203.

7University College History/Social Science Elective: Select one course from ANTH 210, CRJC 200, ECON 200, ECON 211, ECON 212, GEOG 210, GEOG 220, HIST 110, HIST 120, HIST 210, HIST 211, HIST 212, POLI 200, POLI 210, POLI 220, PSYC 210, SOCI 210,or SWRK 220.

8University College Restricted Electives: Six hours must be selected from a Foreign Language Sequence, Social Science/History or Humanities/Fine Arts courses listed on this page; one additional course selected from any core curriculum course.
