BIOGRAPHY |
Carole Boston Weatherford is a Professor in the Department of English. She holds an M.F.A. in creative writing from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro and an M.A. in publications design from the University of Baltimore. She has authored sixteen books of poetry, nonfiction and children’s literature and received a North Carolina Arts Council Fellowship, the North Carolina Juvenile Literature Award, an NAACP Image Award nomination, and the Carter G. Woodson Award from National Council for the Social Studies. Her books have been short-listed by the National Council of Teachers of English, International Reading Association/Children’s Book Council, Voices of Youth Advocates and National Council for the Social Studies. |
