BIOGRAPHY
Judy Fowler holds a PhD in English from the University of Maryland College Park, where she specialized in rhetoric and composition studies.  Before coming to Fayetteville State, Dr. Fowler taught in two Maryland public school systems and at two state universities in Maryland:  the University of Maryland College Park and the University of Maryland Baltimore County.


TEACHING COURSES
Dr. Fowler teaches composition courses, methods and materials of teaching secondary English, and a graduate course on issues in composition instruction.  She also supervises student teachers in English and serves as director of the English Department’s composition program.


 RESEARCH  Dr. Fowler’s professional interests are writing assessment, disciplinary rhetoric, the history of writing programs, and applications of classical rhetoric to both current pedagogy and document analysis.
   
 PUBLICATIONS  Dr. Fowler formerly edited the Maryland English Journal, and she has published in Writing Program Administration and has a forthcoming article (Summer 2004) in the Review of Educational Research.
