What's New?
Online Students have Priority

Online degree-completions (ODC) students will have priority when registering for online courses.

  • Current students will need to declare an online degree-completion major.  For instance, a Criminal Justice major who is completing the degree online will need to go to the Registrar's website and change his major to Criminal Justice Online.
  • New students will need to declare the online degree-completion major, and demonstrate the ability to successfully navigate Blackboard by completing an online learning orientation module.
  • Once these criteria have been met, the Distance Education office will update the student's account in Banner so that the student will be able to register for online courses.
  • Online courses that are not a part of an online degree-completion program will not have the declaration of major requirement, but new students will still need to complete the FSU online learning orientation module.
  • The distance education office will monitor course schedules to ensure that students maintain their status as online degree-completion students.  While it is not uncommon for online degree-completion students to take one or two courses on campus, students whose schedules indicate that they are main campus students will lose the priority registration status.  Students will be required to sign a contract stating that this information has been read and understood.
