The Murchison Road Community Farmers Market

The MRCFM, an initiative of four FSU students, is located in the parking lot of Bronco Square on 1047 Murchison Road Fayetteville. The market serves the Murchison Road community with local fresh produce, honey, herbs, etc.

The MRCFM was the vision for a social business proposal of four FSU students, Pierre J. Solomon, Krishonda N. Hansborough, Francena F. Turner, and Kourtney R. Morris. The market opened in May 28, 2014 with $5,000 grant awarded by the students during the Ford HBCU Community Challenge. Today, in its partnership with Sustainable Neighbors, the MRCFM brings together local farmers and the Murchison Road community, and promotes good health with easy access to locally grown, fresh farm products.

The City of Fayetteville presented FSU with a check for $50,000 to be used for the Murchison Road Community Farmers Market during a ceremony on June 17, 2015.
