Blue Trash Can  Single Stream- 65 gal  New Retrofitted Trash & Recycling Can Pitch-in! Honors Hall  


FSU diverted 1,288 tons of recyclable materials/items from the landfill in FY 2012 by recycling and reusing (Surplus Property Program) efforts! Our single stream program, that everyone participates in, diverted 52 tons. Our construction and demolition debris recycling efforts provided the majority of our tonnage from the construction of Renaissance Hall and the Science and Technology Building projects in FY 2012.

  • Flattened Cardboard (Cardboard-only containers located at Dining Hall, Facilities' Parking Lot, corner of SBE & Butler and the Book Store)
  • Magazines
  • Office Paper
  • Brown Paper Bags
  • Newspapers
  • Plastic Bottles
  • Junk Mail
  • Phone Books and Paperbacks
  • Paperboard
  • Glass Bottles and Jars
  • Aluminum Cans, Aluminum Foil and Tin Cans
  • Steel Cans
Unacceptable Items
  • Plastic Bags
  • Plastic Tubs
  • Garbage
  • Food and Liquids
  • Plasticware
  • Styrofoam or anything else not listed above as acceptable

Other items that can be recycled on Campus, but not through the single stream containers, include: batteries, mercury-containing devices (fluorescent lamps, CFLs, thermometers, thermostats) wood pallets, and surplus property items/equipment.
