FSU diverted 1,288 tons of recyclable materials/items from the landfill in FY 2012 by recycling and reusing (Surplus Property Program) efforts! Our single stream program, that everyone participates in, diverted 52 tons. Our construction and demolition debris recycling efforts provided the majority of our tonnage from the construction of Renaissance Hall and the Science and Technology Building projects in FY 2012.
For questions about recycling, contact Jay Blauser at 910-672-1954.
Other items that can be recycled on Campus, but not through the single stream containers, include: batteries, mercury-containing devices (fluorescent lamps, CFLs, thermometers, thermostats) wood pallets, and surplus property items/equipment.
Recycling rates for Campus can also be seen in our Annual Campus Sustainability Report, located on the Sustainability webpage.
