Design and Construction

• Started integrated design of FSU’s 1st certified LEED Silver building—New Science & Technology
• Completed design of electrical sub-meters for all buildings

Operations and Maintenance

• Installed low-flow shower heads in dormitory buildings
• Replaced some older fluorescent lights with more energy efficient lamps
• Replaced some standard light switches with occupancy sensor switches
• Implemented retro-commissioning contract for Capel Arena  through the State Construction Office

Transportation

• Purchased twelve "green" electric-powered utility vehicles

Waste Management and Recycling

• Expanded Campus' Single Stream Recycling Program
• Began the "Reusable To Go Containers & Cups - Free for meal members!" initiative 
• Battery Recycling

Community Awareness

• Established a student environmental organization - FSU Green Team
• Partnered with Sustainable Sandhills to become a Certified Green Campus 
• Incorporated sustainability initiatives into the FSU Strategic Plan
• Formalized a Sustainability Committee with Campus-wide representation
