RESOLUTION
SENATOR ATTENDANCE
August 30, 2007
Whereas the Bylaws of the Faculty Senate (III.B) specify, "Senate Members are expected to attend all meetings of the Senate. . . ."
Whereas a quorum is required for the Faculty Senate to conduct business;
Whereas the 2006-2007 Senate was unable to conduct business due to a lack of quorum;
Therefore be it resolved that from this date forth,
1. Any Senator who fails to attend more than one Senate meeting per academic year without informing the Secretary to the Faculty Senate within 24 hours in advance of a necessary absence (in person, by phone, or by e-mail) will have his/her membership in the Senate questioned and the affected department will be notified.
2. A Senator may miss no more than three Senate Meetings per year even with advance notification.
