Faculty Senate Workshop

An FSU Faculty Senate Workshop was held on 1/4/08, 10 am – 4 pm.


Here is the program.

10:00 - 12:30 The Role of Faculty in Improving  Graduation and Retention Rates at FSU. Lead by Jon Young.

12:30 - 1:30 Catered Lunch and informal discussion - food provided by Aamark.

1:30 - 2:15 Shared Governance, Ideals, Best Practices, and Necessary Compromises. A  presentation by Dr. Mark Taggart (ECU Music Prof. & Chair of the Faculty Assembly Governance Committee to be  followed by discussion on this topic.

2:20 - 3:20 How to Enhance the Practice of Shared Governance at FSU.
 Dr. VL Hackley (FSU Chancellor) and Dr. John Mattox (FSU Senate Chair) will lead this discussion.

3:30 - 4:00 Revision of the FSU Faculty Senate Governance Documents. Dr. Jonathan Breitzer (FSU Chemistry Professor, Senator, and Chair of the Senate Governance Committee) will make a 10 minute presentation on how the Senate Governance Committee proposes to lead the Senate in the revision of our governance documents. Twenty minutes of discussion will follow.
