Our vision is to provide high quality professional development, training and support based on systematic, data driven processes that lead to the effective development and retention of high quality faculty and improved student learning outcomes.
Federal and State regulations require institutions to become authorized to operate in each state where they serve students. This process is inefficient, expensive and ineffective in supporting access to quality distance education nationwide.
The National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA) offers a solution to the state authorization requirements. It is a voluntary, reciprocity process that allows institutions to become authorized by their home state rather than individual states. Thus eliminating the need for individual approvals in all states where institutions serve students. NC-SARA also supports efforts to increase educational attainment by making authorization more efficient and uniform across states, and more effective at dealing with quality and integrity issues in distance education.
