Leadership Forum

An Initiative to build leadership in Fayetteville State University

Welcome to the online Leadership Forum

To help facilitate communication among the various leadership groups, these Web pages have been created to provide information and resources about the Leadership Academy. Follow the link at the lower right side of this page to view some of the presentations from the groups.

Similarly, a Blackboard site was created and each group has a place with a set of communication tools. In this location, you have available tools that will enable your community (group) to communicate, interact, and collaborate. These tools include wikis, blogs, discussion forum, email, and chat room. You can send emails to community (group) members, upload files, link to Web sites, chat, discuss, blog, and a lot more. In addition to the virtual interaction, there may be need to meet face-to-face, especially when you have to interact with members of existing related committees on campus. It is up to each community to determine when to meet face-to-face.

The issues generated at the Leadership Academy last summer have been added to the various groups. These could be used to guide initial discussions. The discussions or work of the community should not be limited to those issues. There are suggested outcomes for each community, which is available in the last email and is also posted within your group space. The outcomes will lead to generating the final product.

If you know an administrator you feel should participate, but was not invited to the summer leadership academy, consider that an oversight and please feel free to recommend the individual.

As you meet in your community, please remember that our ultimate goal is to build institutional capacity in leadership development, improve communication, strength collaboration, serve our clients (students) better, and encourage team-building among all the various leadership cadre, to address the priorities of UNC Tomorrow, PACE, FSU strategic planning, and BRAC, as FSU develops into a 21st century institution. Our thought, ideas, solutions, and interventions will eventually be forwarded to the Chancellor.

Thank you for your interest and support of this project.
