This is a working board. The FSU Advisory Board team has reviewed courses, approved courses, recommended courses and actively participates in all program design decisions. Of course the board must work within the confines of FSU and UNC system policies but that has not in anyway prohibited them in designing a fire science program directed toward providing the student with the tools they will require as they lead the fire service into the 21st century. From the very early stages of program development, it was recognized that an academic program without the support, advice, and enthusiasm of a working advisory board would not and could not be successful. With this in mind the program design team, assisted greatly by Fayetteville Fire Chief Benny Nichols, set out to bring as many regional fire departments on board as possible.
