University College Electronic Check-In

Welcome to the University College electronic check-in! Please take a few moments to make sure your FSU username and password work properly. This information will give you access to the many online resources of the University. The check-in process has four parts:

  1. Look up your username and password. Click on the link below. You will need your student ID number (83....). Write down your username and password carefully.  Passwords are case-sensitive, and minor differences (letter "l" vs. number "1") can mean the difference between access and lockout!

    After looking up your username and password, close the browser window to return to this page. If you already know your FSU username and password, skip to step 2.
  2. Log in to iNside FSU. Use your network username and password to log in to iNside FSU, FSU's intranet portal. You can access most of the University's online resources with a single log-in: Blackboard, Banner, and more!

    Click here to log in to iNside FSU.

    After you log in, return to this window, but don't log out of iNside FSU.

     
  3. Access Blackboard.  Blackboard is your portal for web-assisted instruction.  Every course has a Blackboard website.  Freshman Seminar students also have a Freshman Seminar Commons site with announcements and other information of interest to all students.  To access Blackboard,
     
    1. return to the iNside FSU main page.
    2. under Bookmarks Plus, click FSU Blackboard.
    3. under My Courses, click Freshman Seminar Commons.

      If this does not work, try logging in to Blackboard using the Blackboard home page.
       
  4. Access your FSU E-mail. E-mail is the official means of communication between students and the University.  You should check your FSU e-mail daily.  To access your e-mail,
     
    1. Go to Student Webmail from the Current Students page. (You can also log in by going to http://login.live.com/.)
    2. Click on the Log in icon.
    3. Look for a message with the Subject Heading "Orientation pre-vU - Technology @ FSU".  Open the message and note your VIP Page log-in information.
    4. Log in to your VIP Page. That will let us know you have successfully accessed your FSU e-mail.

      Your VIP Page is a personalized portal that provides a variety of information to guide your success at FSU. 
       
  5. Register your phone for emergency text alerts (optional). FSU has a state-of-the-art emergency alert system. One part of that system allows students to register a cell phone to receive text alerts about emergency situations on campus (e.g., closure due to inclement weather). To register a phone,
    1. Go to the FSU Bronco Alert Emergency Message Sign-Up page.
    2. Enter your Banner ID.
    3. Enter your cell phone number, then enter it again to verify.
    4. Click Submit.

That's it! After you have complete the Electronic Check-In, please close all browser windows except the University College Electronic Check-In page. 

Problems? If you encounter any problems logging in,

  1. ask one of the lab assistants to help you.  Double-check your username and password. If that fails,
  2. complete a Network Account Issue Report.

We will resolve your problem as quickly as possible.
