  FSU-LEAP Course Offerings
  • MATH 123 (College Algebra): An algebra course containing the following topics: sets, the real number system, exponents, radicals, etc. For Business, Nursing, and Teacher Education majors.
  • MATH 129 (Pre-Calculus Mathematics I): The first of a two-semester sequence for students who are preparing to take calculus. Topics include sets, the real number system, exponents, radicals, polynomials, equations, inequalities, functions, relations, graphing, conic sections, and rational, exponential, and logarithmic functions. For STEM majors.
  • ENGL 110 (English Composition I): A course designed to give extensive practice in the writing process, with emphasis on expository forms appropriate to everyday personal, business, and academic writing.

  FSU-LEAP/RISE Course Offerings
  • ENGL 110 (English Composition I):  A course designed to give extensive practice in the writing process, with emphasis on expository forms appropriate to everyday personal, business, and academic writing.

**The RISE option includes a leadership retreat, and other activities designed to prepare intended STEM majors for success.  Students in the RISE track will earn 6 credits instead of 7 and will be eligible for a $500 stipend after the program concludes.  Also, please keep in mind that if you accept the invitation for the RISE track, you WILL take ENGL 110 and UNIV 110, but you WILL NOT take MATH 123/129.  However, you WILL participate in activities that will prepare you for MATH courses.
