April 15, 2008. If you are interested in volunteering for lunch buddy,

The 17th Annual Miss Fayetteville State University Scholarship Pageant will be
held on Saturday, April 19 at 8:00 p.m. in the J.W. Seabrook Auditorium.
This year’s competition, ‘The Miss Education’ promises to be entertaining and
exciting!
Miss Fayetteville State University, Lisa Harris, a senior from Asheville, will
relinquish her crown to one of six outstanding young women:
• Sobeilly Guadalupe, Junior, Spanish major, Fayetteville, NC
• Elita Hill, Junior, Business Administration major, Fayetteville, NC
• Brittany Jackson, Junior, Physical Education major, Charlotte, NC
• Andrea Donaldson, Junior, Biology major, Sanford, NC
• Kelly Smith, Sophomore, Music Education major, Fayetteville, NC
• Amber Bernard, Junior, Mass Communication major, Richmond, CA
To be eligible for the competition, each contestant must demonstrate academic
excellence, as well as be in good standing with the university. There are six
phases of competition: interview, fitness and athletic wear, on-stage knowledge
and awareness, talent, evening gown, and student vote.
As in previous years, the crowd-pleasing opening number will feature the
reigning queen, contestants, and the Miss FSU Pageant Dancers. A host of
exciting entertainment will also be showcased throughout the evening. The
public is invited to attend. Admission is free.

The
Student Activities Council, along with the Office of Student Activities of
Fayetteville State University, will host its Praise Party Gospel Concert on
Sunday, April 27, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. in the Felton J. Capel Arena.
This anointed event will wrap up the end of the Student Activities Council
Annual Rodeo Week scheduled for April 21-27, 2008. The Praise Party will
feature the renown gospel recording artist Tye Tribbett and Greater Anointing,
The Brothers (Fayetteville, NC), gospel comedian Marcus Wiley (103.9 the Light),
the True Vine Ministries Worship Warriors (Fayetteville, NC), and Fayetteville
State’s own United Voices of Praise Gospel Choir.
General admission for the Praise Party is $20.00 in advance and $25.00 at the
door. Tickets are $5.00 for the first 500 FSU students and $10.00 at the door
(FSU Students only). Tickets can be purchased at
www.etix.com or at the FSU Ticket Office, located in the lobby of Seabrook
Auditorium, Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

28580. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15,
2008 at Snow Hill Cemetery.
