ORBIT Self Service

from Wilma Thorpe, Benefits-Human Resources

Introducing ORBIT Self Service!  With ORBIT, you now have access to view your retirement account information online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  ORBIT Self Service is one element of the NC Department of State Treasurer’s (DST) on-going commitment to provide members of the Retirement Systems Division (RSD) with a state-of-the-art and fully integrated retirement information system, accessible through the web.

Once registered, you will be able to view the following:

· View your personal information

· View account summary

· View account history

· Create custom benefit estimate

· Request account balances

· Create service purchase estimate

How To Register
Step 1: Visit the DST website by entering the following URL: www.nctreasurer.com

Step 2: From the “Retirement” drop-down menu, select “ORBIT.” This will redirect you to the RSD website.

Step 3: Follow the instructions to Login or Register for the first time.

Employee Annual Statements
For the first time, the Retirement Systems Division will mail employees’ annual statements to their home addresses. This is an improvement over past years when statements and newsletters were sent to employers for distribution. Due to the size of the mailing, statements will be sent in waves with the first wave beginning this month. The second wave will be mailed later in the spring. Therefore employees may receive their statements at different times.

Annual statements will be mailed to employees who made contributions to their retirement account as of December 31, 2007. Those with less than 12 months of service, with contributions as of December 31, will receive a shorter one-page statement.

As a reminder, if you have moved, please update your current address with the Human Resources Office.
