All new faculty and staff members and anyone who missed our last class:
You are invited to attend the Central Store Class!
Please join us on February 15, 2008 as we go over the Central Store process and
how you can have all of your supply needs met on campus.
We will have three classes. They will be held at 9:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., and
11:00 a.m. All classes will be held in the SBE building, room 104.
Stop by and pick up the new supply books and your free sample bag, while
supplies last. Please e-mail Penelope Streater at
Pstreater@uncfsu.edu to reserve your
seat. Thank you.
from Major Jacqueline Clay,
Police & Public Safety
By entering serial and model numbers provided upon reporting the thefts, we were
able to identify and recover four (4) expensive pieces of computer equipment
that had been stolen from the university. The numbers had been entered into the
Division of Criminal Information system. The follow-up of an anonymous tip
helped locate the equipment. One computer found belonged to the same department,
but there was no record of it being stolen. However, we were able to identify it
through the computer system itself. The monitor had not been reported yet, but
the e-mail assisted in getting inquiries which led to the owner.
Campus police encourages each department to keep a log of serial and model
numbers in each area to provide upon reporting stolen items. The quicker we are
able to enter the information, the better chance of recovery. The report was
filed early on February 12 and recovered shortly after noon the same day.
