Management
Facilities Management will be conducting the annual fire alarm system testing
beginning Tuesday, January 8. The testing is scheduled to last
appropriately two weeks. We will send out schedules, dates to be tested,
and buildings affected prior to the day of testing.
The following buildings will be tested on the following dates:
Tuesday, January 8: Facilities Management, Central Receiving, Cook Hall,
Paige Alumni House, Collins Admin., Barber Admin., Spalding Infirmary, Chesnutt
Library, and Continuation Education.
Wednesday, January 9: Rosenthal, Helen Chick, Telecom Center, Taylor
Science, School of Business, and Butler.
Thursday, January 10: Capel Arena, Bronco Stadium, Lyons Science,
Mitchell, Jones Student Center and Honors Hall.
Friday, January 11: Seabrook Auditorium, Bryant Hall, Harris Hall, Vance
Hall, and New Residence Hall.
Please note, during testing a brief sounding of the fire alarm system horn and
flashing strobe light may occur. Please ignore this alarm unless
instructed by Facilities otherwise.

Services
Incoming Calls
Due to the heavy volume of incoming calls to the university’s switchboard, we
are requesting that you please refrain from calling the operator to obtain phone
extensions.
Departmental extensions and employees are located on the FSU website for your
convenience. We will, however, be happy to assist you with any numbers
that you are unable to locate.
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter as we strive to provide timely
responses to external callers.
Facilities Request
All Facilities Use forms must be submitted to my office a minimum of (10) ten
working days before the date of the event. Please be sure that the form is
completed in all areas and have the proper signatures before submitting to me.
NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!
Directory changes
Please send me all changes made within your staff and faculty ASAP. Include the
names of new members, phone number changes, and personnel that have left your
area so I may delete their names from my roster while up dating the directory.
Please contact the office assistant in your department to help verify this
information.

Tuesday, January 8, will mark the first of many promotional game nights this
basketball season at Fayetteville State University (FSU). The first event
has been entitled “Gospel Hoop Night” as Fayetteville State’s Men and Women
teams’ take on Virginia Union University. The women’s game will begin at
5:30 p.m. with the men following inside Felton J. Capel Arena.
The McDonald Sisters, a musical family and winners of the Prestige Award for
Female Quartet of the Year, will perform the national anthem prior to the men’s
game. The McDonald Sisters are natives of Fayetteville, NC, and the first
female gospel quartet in Fayetteville and surrounding areas to have a sold-out
gospel concert at the Cumberland County Memorial Auditorium.
Fans and spectators will have opportunities to participate in halftime
entertainment such as: Ramp It Up, Two-man Relay, and Text-to-win contests.
Tickets for the basketball game are $10 for general admission and free for FSU
students with a valid ID. Season ticket packages are available (with
discounts for faculty/staff), along with group pricing. Purchase advance
