As a part of an ongoing effort to improve the conditions of our campus
facilities, we are scheduled to remove hazardous materials from the Collins
Building (former Human Resource office areas and Payroll, now vacant) starting
after business hours on Friday, March 14, 2008 and scheduled to finish, pass air
clearance testing, and be approved for re-occupancy in these spaces on Monday,
March 17, 2008. These spaces will be isolated/sealed off from the rest of
the building, which can remain occupied and operate as usual. The
hazardous materials in these spaces, which contain asbestos, include: floor
tiles and floor tile mastic (glue).
As usual, our standard operating procedure is to have a certified industrial
hygienist on site to monitor the process, as well as to test air samples in and
around the project areas/buildings. This monitoring is required to ensure
all work is being done in accordance with EPA, NC-OSHA, and NC Health Hazard
Control Unit’s stringent procedures. These procedures are the most
stringent in the nation for this type of work in both occupied and unoccupied
buildings. This action is taken to ensure everyone’s safety.
We regret any inconvenience that may occur as a result of this renovation

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 14, from 12 noon - 1 p.m. at Bostic-Kendrick
Funeral Home in Southern Pines. The funeral will begin at 1 p.m., also at the
funeral home.

Bronco Lunch Buddy visitation scheduled for Reid Ross Classical on tomorrow,
Thursday, March 13, 2008 has been cancelled due to school scheduling. We
will resume the bi-weekly schedule after the Easter holiday.
