REMINDER: Relay for Life Event

from Rosie McMillan, Department of Nursing

CELEBRATE. REMEMBER. FIGHT BACK.

Relay For Life is a life-changing event that brings together more than 3.5 million people to CELEBRATE the lives of those who have battled cancer, REMEMBER love ones lost, and empower individuals and communities to FIGHT BACK against a disease that takes too much.

It is the strength of cancer survivors that inspires others to continue to fight.

At Relay, those who have walked alongside those battling cancer can grieve and find healing.

Make a commitment to save a life by taking up the fight.

Luminarias: You can help light the way to a cure for cancer and honor loved ones who have battled the disease.  During the American Cancer Society Relay For Life Event, a beautiful and touching Luminaria Ceremony takes place.  Candles are placed in luminaria bags and are lit the Friday Night of the event to honor those fighting cancer or in remembrance of those who have lost their battle with cancer.

PLEASE!  PLEASE!  WE NEED YOU TO COMMIT TO BEING A CAPTAIN FOR YOUR DEPARTMENT.

RELAY FOR LIFE WILL BE HELD JUNE 6-7, 2008 AT METHODIST UNIVERSITY.

LET US REPRESENT OUR UNIVERSITY BY VOLUNTEERING!

CONTACT: R. MCMILLAN, RECRUITER AT x1105

THANK YOU!!
