months of our daughter’s life. Thanks also to those who so generously
donated leave so that mother and daughter could recuperate. We are truly

The University College Learning Center is open during Summer Session I Monday
through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Students can get assistance with writing
for any class, and with MATH 121 and MATH 123. For more information, visit
the Learning Center website at

Smarthinking, the online tutoring service, is also available during Summer I.
Students can get help with a variety of subjects. Students can access
Smarthinking from the Tools area of any Blackboard site.

University College will sponsor
an Academic Success Workshop Thursday, May 22, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. in Lyons
Science Annex 120. It is designed for students who are taking summer
courses to improve their Grade Point Average. Student Success Counselors
from University College and the Transfer and Advisement Center will provide tips
on how to handle the pace of summer classes, how to write an academic appeal
letter, and how to get help with their summer classes. For more
