In Memoriam Update

The FSU family would like to extend our deepest sympathy to the family of Bobby L. Little, father of Debra Brown in the Department of Social Work.

There will be a memorial service at Wiseman Mortuary on Cumberland Street on Thursday, November 15th, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the chapel.  Viewing and visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.  The service is scheduled from 6:15 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Her father will then be flown to Georgia for funeral services on Saturday, November 17th, at Bobby E. Glover Mortuary, 1006 Creekwood Drive, Perry, GA  31069, (478) 987-4406.

You may read original poetry, fiction or creative nonfiction, or something by a favorite author.
Students, faculty, and staff are also invited to be featured readers at future open mics.

Participation in Spring Open House

Clubs or organizations that are interested in having a table during Spring Open House on Saturday, February 23, 2008, to interact with potential students, please contact Michael Head in Admissions as soon as possible.  Space is limited.  I would like to afford the opportunity to all who are interested and highlight as many as possible.  Those who I’ve already coordinated with, I’ll keep you informed.

Students who are interested in being tour guides or assisting throughout the day, please let me know.  If you are a fraternity or sorority member, please coordinate with Leonard Jones.  If you are in the Honors Program, please coordinate with Mrs. Rhodie-Hardwick.  Thank you.
 


In Memorials

The FSU family would like to extend our deepest sympathy to the family of Professor Ralph Okojie in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science (Benin City, Nigeria).  His father recently passed away.

While the funeral will take place in Nigeria, a memorial service is being planned here in Fayetteville or Hope Mills.

The FSU family would also like to extend our heartfelt sympathy to the family John B. Henderson, former Associate Professor of Sociology and husband of FSU retiree Gwen Henderson.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 15, at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Village Drive, Lexington, NC.  The funeral will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. in the same location.
