Announcements
for Wednesday, October 10, 2007
from W. Charles McGoogan,
Facilities Management
There will be a small portion of WT
Brown Drive (adjacent the new Lyons Science Annex building) closed off early
Thursday (10/11/07) morning in order to set up a crane, so that rooftop exhaust
fan motors can be safely installed on the new building. We hope that this
operation can be completed in one day; however, in the event that work is not
completed on Thursday, it may become necessary to leave the crane in place
overnight to finish early Friday morning.
The intersections of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and WT Brown Drive (both east
and west) will remain open and accessible, just as we have done in the past.
WT Brown traffic will still be able to travel the Martin Luther King Jr. loop
around the rear of Seabrook Auditorium and Cook Hall, past the Facilities
Management complex in both directions. Parking Lot “M” behind the
Rosenthal building will remain open and in normal operation as usual.
We regret any inconvenience caused as a result of this operation. Please
forward any questions to Chuck McGoogan in Facilities Management at (910)
672-2977. Your usual patience and understanding is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Resources

Colonial Life & Accident Insurance
Company have offered their products and services to Fayetteville State
University employees through the convenience of payroll deduction for the past
35 years. Effective October 8, 2007, through November 2, 2007, there will
be an open enrollment for Colonial’s Educator Income Disability Plan.
With this open enrollment, eligible employees will be able to apply for up to
60% of their income, with a maximum of $3,000 per month in disability benefits
with only one simple health question. High income employees can apply for
up to $5,000 per month in benefits, not to exceed 60% of income, but would have
to answer all applicable health questions for disability amounts over $3,000 per
month. This is a wonderful, one-time opportunity for all employees to be
able to enroll, as long as they are able to answer NO to this one health
question.
All benefits are paid tax-free. Disability benefits do NOT coordinate with
any other plans, including the State short-term disability plan and The Standard
Disability Plan. All Colonial products are portable and can be kept at the
same premium, even if an employee changes jobs or retires. Other Colonial
products offered to FSU employees include: Accident, Cancer, Universal Life,
Term Life, Whole Life, Critical Illness and Medical Bridge insurance.
