Sociology Club Supports Students Against Hunger

Throughout October, the Sociology Club is accepting canned goods in support of Students Against Hunger and the Second
Harvest Food Bank of Southeast North Carolina.  A table will be set up on the first floor of the Taylor Science Building on
Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays during the month.  Until the end of the semester, donations may be brought to my office
(Taylor Science, Rm. 210-A), on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 1-3 p.m. and on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-4 p.m.

We are especially interested in the following items: canned meals, stews, soups, tuna, ravioli, etc., pop-top cans a plus,
peanut butter, cereal, canned fruits and vegetables, rice, paper products, toilet paper, paper towels, etc. (no glass please).

Biology Thesis Defense

The M.S. Biology thesis defense for Ms. Jenie J. Chute in the Department of Natural Sciences is scheduled for Wednesday,
October 24, 2007 at 11:00 a.m.

Location: Lyons Science 303

Title: "A Study of Populations of the Eastern Box Turtle, Terrapene Carolina in Urban Forest Fragments"

Advisor: Dr. Jarvis Hudson (research); Dr. Ronald Johnston (thesis chair)

The defense is open to faculty and graduate students!
 


Blood Drive at FSU

from Calvin Ellis, Residence Life

The American Red Cross will hold a Blood Drive at Fayetteville State University on October 30 from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  The
drive, sponsored by Residence Life, will be held in the Rudolph Jones Student Center.

All donors will be eligible to enter a drawing to win a two-night stay at the 1874 Blake House Inn and tickets for two to
Biltmore Estate.  For more information, you may contact Mr. Ellis at extension 1730.
 


In Memoriam

The FSU family would like to extend our deepest sympathy to family of Norman Fink, father of Richard Fink in the FSU Office of Residence Life.  No services will be held due to cremation.
