John "Ben" Brown, chairman of the Fayetteville State University (FSU) Board of
Trustees and head of the search committee for the new Chancellor of FSU, has
announced a series of forums that will allow the students, faculty, staff,
alumni, and the public to voice their opinions on the new leader for the
institution. With the exception of the staff forum, which will be held in J.W.
Seabrook Auditorium, all of the forums will be held in Shaw Auditorium in the
School of Business and Economics. While each forum targets a specific group, all
are open to the general public.
The forum dates and times are:
Alumni Forum - September 15, 10 a.m.
Student Forum - September 20, 6 p.m.
Staff Forum - September 24, Noon
Public Forum - September 26, 7 p.m.
Faculty Forum - September 27, 4 p.m.

The Fayetteville State University (FSU) Career Services Center will hold
"Graduate and Professional School Day" on Friday, September 28, from 1:00 p.m. -
4:00 p.m. in the Rudolph Jones Student Center. This event is free and open to
the public.
Many graduate and professional schools will be in attendance to discuss future
academic goals with participants. For additional information, please contact Mr.
Maurice Wingfield at (910) 672-1100.

The FSU family would like to extend our deepest
sympathy to the family of Robert L. Thomas, Jr., the young man killed Sunday
morning on Bragg Blvd. He was the nephew of Julie Freeman Chase,
Department of Middle Grades, Secondary & Special Education.
Funeral arrangements have not been completed at this time.
