The Post 9/11 GI Bill is for individuals with at least 90 days of aggregate service on or after September 11, 2001, or individuals discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days.
1. Complete or Submit Paperwork
If you have not applied for the Post 9/11 GI Bill before please start at "A". If you have applied and received a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) or Award Letter please start at "B".
A. Complete VA Paperwork
Go to the VONAPP web site and fill out the appropriate form (see below). Once you fill out the online form and submit it, you will need to print a copy and send it to FSU VA office where it will be kept file. To verify you have successfully submitted your form to the VA, a confirmation number will appear on the bottom of each page of the form you print out to send us.
B. Submit copy of Certificate Of Eligibility (COE) or Award Letter
If you have already applied for the Post 9/11 GI Bill and the Department of Veterans’ Affairs has sent you a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) or an Award Letter, you must submit a copy to FSU VA office.
2. Complete and send us the Post 9/11 GI Bill
3. The V.A. certification process begins.
Note:The COE and Award Letter will be sent directly you, not Fayetteville State University.
It is your responsibility to forward the documentation to the VA Office. The Award Letter and Payment will not be received until the VA processes your enrollment certification (22-1999).
